Origin and properties of the ingredients

Olive soap: The fruits from centuries-old olive groves in the Mediterranean region of Italy, Spain and Greece are used to extract olive oil of controlled organic quality using mechanical processes such as pressing and centrifuging. Saponified with potassium hydroxide, it forms the main ingredient in Sonett olive detergent for wool and silk. Olive oil is the best raw oil for a mild moisturizing soap. Its balanced fatty acid composition, its healing balancing effect on the heart and circulation and the remarkable development of the olive tree plant in a 7-year cycle show the special closeness and relationship of this oil to people.

Rapeseed oil soap / sunflower oil soap: Vegetable oil saponified with potassium hydroxide serves to increase the washing power. Rapeseed, linseed and sunflowers are among the few oil crops that are grown in our temperate central European climate for oil production, also in controlled organic quality.

Ethanol: Obtained by fermenting starchy plants such as corn and potatoes. Ethanol helps keep the soap liquid and at the same time improves the grease-dissolving power of the detergent.

Sugar surfactant: Sugar, starch and coconut oil are the raw materials for the sugar surfactant used. The proportion of sugar surfactant is adjusted to the soap content of the detergent so that it serves to keep the lime soap that forms in hard water in a finely distributed suspension and prevent it from settling on the laundry.

Product features

In this product, valuable pressed olive oil is processed into a soap that has excellent cleaning, care and moisturizing properties for textiles made of wool and silk. The sugar surfactant creates a soap-based mild detergent that is easy to handle even in hard water and retains all the positive properties of a soap detergent. The olive oil, rapeseed oil and sunflower oil as well as the essential lavender oil come 100% from controlled organic cultivation.

scope of application

For delicates, wool and silk up to 40 °C; in the washing machine and for hand washing.

Application

Pour into the detergent compartment of the machine. Do not spray the detergent concentrate onto the dry laundry. This could cause delicate fabrics to change color.

Dosing in the 4.5 kg washing machine

Hardness range soft + medium: 60 ml
Hardness range hard: 90 ml

fertility

1 litre of olive detergent for wool and silk is sufficient for 17 washes in the soft and medium hardness range, with a filling quantity of approx. 2.5 kg.

Recommendation
Add Sonett laundry conditioner to the fabric softener compartment: 40 ml per wash. Refreshes sensitive colors, helps rinse out detergent residues better and smoothes the fibers.

Hand wash
Add 15-30 ml per 5 litres of water to the running water, then place the laundry items in. Move gently. Adjust the temperature of the rinsing water to the washing water to avoid temperature shocks.

ecology

Biodegradation

Soap made from vegetable oils has the outstanding feature of combining with the lime that is always present in wastewater to form lime soap immediately after use. This neutralizes the surface-active effect that attacks aquatic life within a few hours (primary degradation). The lime soap is then 100% broken down by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and water (secondary degradation). Ethanol is infinitely miscible with water and is reintegrated into the natural cycle within a few hours. In the production process for sugar surfactants, parts of the plant-based raw materials, starch, sugar and fat, are removed, but their natural structure is completely preserved. It is therefore relatively easy for the microorganisms to break down these surfactants quickly and completely to 100%. According to the OECD, soap and sugar surfactants are considered to be easily biodegradable.
